The ControlLogix platform is a series of programmable logic controllers manufactured by Rockwell Automation.

The ControlLogix platform is a series of programmable logic controllers manufactured by Rockwell Automation. The platform's goal is to offer a central automation solution that can perform tasks such as safety, motion, batch processing and discrete manufacturing from one controller or system.

A programmable logic controller is an industrial digital computer designed for use in an industrial environment. It uses simple programming languages that are employed to control automated machinery and processes. These devices typically have input and output terminals to which switches, sensors, relays and other devices may be connected so that the device functions as part of a control system.

Third-party software firms offer applications such as web-enabled programming interfaces, data trending and analysis tools to enhance the capabilities of the ControlLogix platform.

The ControlLogix system consists of three major components: the Logix5000 controller, the Logix5000 programming software, and the Logix5000 I/O modules.

The ControlLogix® system consists of three major components: the Logix5000 controller, the Logix5000 programming software, and the Logix5000 I/O modules. The controller supports Connected Components Workbench™, control law enhancements, additional instruction sets, and integration into Allen-Bradley® Studio 5000™ design environment.

Controllogix 2010 -- Controller supports Connected Components Workbench; control law enhancements; additional instruction sets; Allen Bradley Studio 5000.

  • Studio 5000 Logix Designer is the one application to configure, program, and maintain the entire Allen-Bradley® Logix 5000 family of controller’s products and related devices.

  • The Logix designer application combines engineering and design elements into one standard framework that enables optimized productivity and reduced commissioning time.
